Considering our parents we found this one funny.

Awesome: La fille du régiment

12 12 2011

Our mother’s boyfriend sort of took us to the opera, or we took him. Like right now because it is the Met online which is the first bit of awesomeness, and secondly it was La fille du régiment which is quite funny, even with all the marriage bits, and even missing the physical humour bits.

Thumbs up. Sorry we can’t make fun of The Boyfriend in this post, but don’t worry, I am sure something will come up.

There’s already a Lexi, but we welcome this Lexi to the ranks! Lexi told off Electronic Arts for not having female hockey players in their game – and they made some.

You are awesome!

It’s tough being a warrior princess

3 11 2011

Man I can’t believe we missed this warrior princess event. Next time!

Although we would like to note something here. The bustier + bare arms + bare legs is not really that great for fighting. And not a chain mail bikini either. This is one of the most frustrating things about the way women warriors are portrayed. Why is it that they do not have proper equipment? Is it because of kilts?

Sadly, we did not see any women warriors on Hallowe’en. We saw a number of sexy-girl outfits, nurses, vampires, princesses and butterfies. But in our neighbourhood we did not see any girl superheroes, warriors, or anything resembling a role model. This was kind of a piss off, and next year we think we will be dressing up. As a mom sadly, but still.

On that note here’s some worst-dressed women warriors in film.

Art, child. Child, art.

So this chick’s going to give birth in an art gallery. Justification: “In doing this we are telling the world and our child that his or her life is a precious work of art.

Let us clarify things.
